GBAM! ‘Don’t Be Like Baba Mohbad’ – Portable Accuses Father Of Extortion, Theft

The controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has called out his father, alleging parental neglect and financial exploitation.

In an emotionally charged Instagram live session, the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker detailed a history of abandonment, claiming his father failed to provide him with a proper education or vocational training.

Portable stated that he was sent away from Abuja and had to independently pursue tailoring in Lagos.

The artiste expressed frustration that his father, whom he claimed was absent during his struggles — including times spent in police stations — is now, in his view, overly involved in his personal life for personal gain.

He accused his father of stealing his belongings, meddling in family affairs and even extorting money from the mothers of his children.

“Even my dad is only concerned with getting money from me. There is no time I would be in the police station that you will ever come to my aid as your son,” he said.

“But you can collect the phone numbers of your son’s baby mamas and collect money from them. You will be sniffing around my family. You are with me, yet my life is scattered. When you are not with me, my life goes on.”

Portable alleged that his father mishandled funds meant for a building project, cheating him on material purchases. He also rejected any notion of his father “inheriting my hard-earned properties, including cars and clothes”.

“My life is good without you. I am a hero. You did not take care of me. You did not send me to school. You are just like baba Mohbad; you are always wearing my shoes and clothes. You can never inherit me. I will not allow you to do to me what they did to Mohbad. My father is ready to take my properties, including my cars and my clothes,” he said.

“When I wanted to build a house, I told him to handle it. He was always cheating me. A block of N300,000, he will call it N900,000. You stand on my toes because of my properties. When my mother died, my father said he was not concerned. My father was cheating me on the purchase of bricks. You were in Abuja doing your thing.

“My father sent me away from Abuja, and I came to learn tailoring in Lagos.”
