Gas Safety Guidelines Issued For Households

Safety advocates have advised households and food vendors to adopt proper gas cylinder handling practices to prevent accidents and ensure safe usage in homes and business environments.

According to safety guidelines, gas cylinders should always be kept in an upright position to maintain stability and reduce pressure-related risks.

Proper ventilation is also strongly recommended, as cylinders should not be stored in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces.

Experts further warn against placing gas cylinders too close to heat sources such as cooking stoves, noting that excessive heat can compromise cylinder integrity and increase the risk of leakage.

Routine safety checks are encouraged, with authorities recommending the use of soapy water around cylinder valves to detect leaks, as the appearance of bubbles may indicate gas escape.

In addition, users are advised to install only approved hoses and regulators, avoiding substandard accessories that could fail under pressure.

Worn-out hoses and outdated regulators should be replaced promptly to maintain safe operation.

Safety officials emphasize that responsible gas handling is a shared duty within households and commercial kitchens, urging users to prioritize caution over convenience.
