GAPOSA SUG Calls For Immediate Government Intervention Over Persistent Road Crashes

My Dear Students,
It is with a profound sense of concern and responsibility that I address you following the unfortunate road accident that occurred earlier today within our host community, involving one of our own students.

I am pleased to inform you that the affected student is currently stable, calm, and responding well to treatment under medical supervision. We remain in close contact with those attending to her and will continue to monitor progress until full recovery is achieved.

At this critical moment, I urge all students to remain calm, law-abiding, and avoid the spread of unverified information. Let us stand united in solidarity, offering our support and prayers to our colleague and their loved ones.

While we are grateful that the situation is being managed, this incident once again exposes the persistent dangers posed by the unsafe condition of roads within our school environment and its adjoining community. It is both unacceptable and preventable.

In view of this, the Students’ Union Government, on behalf of the entire student populace, hereby demands that the relevant government authorities take immediate and decisive action by installing speed breakers along the affected road, deploying more road enforcement officers to regulate traffic and curb reckless driving, and providing a stationed mobile ambulance along the road serving our institution to ensure rapid emergency response in cases of distress.

The safety of students must never be treated as an afterthought. Preventable accidents must be prevented.

We call on the government to act with the seriousness this situation demands, as we remain resolute in advocating for the protection and welfare of every student.
