FLASH: Police Arrest APC Publicity Secretary

The All Progressives Congress, APC has confirmed the arrest of its publicity secretary in Zamfara State, Malam Yusuf Idris-Gusau by the police.

Idris-Gusau was arrested on Tuesday, Alhaji Bashir Ataka, the Welfare Secretary of APC in Zamfara confirmed.

He confirmed that Idris-Gusau was arrested in his house in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara and taken to the state police headquarters.

He said members of the party are with him at the police headquarters.

While he did not disclose the reason for the arrest, by security operatives, Ataka urged APC members in the state to remain calm and law abiding.

“Yes, our Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris was arrested on Tuesday in Gusau at his residence by some security operatives.”

According to him, Idris is now in the Police Headquarters for interrogation.

“We are now with him at the police headquarters, Gusau,” he added

Ataka, however, called on APC members in the state to remain calm and law-abiding.
