A violent clash broke out in the Mandilas area of Lagos Island on Wednesday, leaving one person dead after a stabbing incident.
The Lagos state police command said a suspect has been arrested and that normalcy has been restored to the area.
According to eyewitnesses, the fight started between two young men during a dispute over the sharing of money from a job.
The argument escalated, and one of the men allegedly stabbed the other man, who later died from his injuries.
Bystanders reportedly beat the suspect before handing him over to the police.
Tensions, however, flared as the deceased’s friends expressed dissatisfaction with the situation, leading to further skirmishes among themselves.
