Former Arsenal director Richard Carr has died. The Premier League North London club announced his passing in a statement on their website on Tuesday.
The Gunners expressed their condolences, praying for Carr’s soul to rest in peace.
“We are sad to learn that former Arsenal director and board member Richard Carr has passed away,” Arsenal’s statement read.
“Everyone at the club is thinking of Richard’s loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Richard.”
Carr’s death comes ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Manchester United this weekend.
Born in 1938, Carr held close to five per cent of Arsenal’s shares until May 2008, when he sold them to Stan Kroenke.
