Jotaâs death, Antonio scare
Earlier in July this year, Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota died at the age of 28 following a tragic road accident in Spain.
The fatal crash occurred on the A-52 motorway, at kilometre 65, near the municipality of Palacios de Sanabria in the province of Zamora.
In the first week of December last year, then-West Ham United striker, Michail Antonio, was involved in a ghastly road crash.
About four months later, in March 2025, Antonio said he came close to dying in a horrific car crash that shattered his career.
He, however, said he was certain he stood a chance of playing football again.
