The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Training and Development, Frank Mba, has voluntarily retired from the Nigeria Police Force after 34 years of service.
His retirement follows recent leadership changes in the force, including the exit of former Inspector-General Kayode Egbetokun and the appointment of Olatunji Rilwan Disu as the new Inspector-General of Police.
Meanwhile, the Police Service Commission has invited seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police for promotion interviews to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General as part of efforts to constitute the new Force Management Team.
Mba, a former Force Public Relations Officer and spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, joined the police in 1992 and served in several key roles, including Commissioner of Police in Ogun State and AIG in charge of the FCID Annex, Panti, Lagos.
The AIGs invited for the promotion interviews are Margareth Ochalla, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, Ishiaku Mohammed, Zacharia Fera Achinyan, Zango Ibrahim Baba, Mohammed Abdul Sulaiman, and Umar Shehu Nadada.
According to the PSC, the officers are expected to appear for the interview at the commission’s office on Friday.
