FLASH: Days After Båndits Att@ck, Governor’s Sister D¡es In Abuja

A sister to Agbu Kefas, the governor of Taraba State has died, Leadership reports.

Atsi Kefas, who was accidentally shot by a police escort during an attack by bandits while traveling along Kente Road in the Wukari Local Government Area last Thursday died at a hospital in Abuja.

Sources close to the family said Atsi was transferred to an Abuja hospital for better treatment after the incident.

She was said to have died on Monday, December 9, night having succumbed to injuries from the attack.

The source said, “She died last night. She finally succumbed to her injuries. The governor and his family are yet to release an official statement on the passing of Atsi Kefas. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.”

Another source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said, “Yes, the younger sister to Taraba state Governor who was shot recently by bandits while travelling to Abuja, has passed away.”

Atsi was travelling alongside the governor’s mother, Jumai when some bandits attacked them last Thursday.

In an attempt to repel the criminals, the police escort attached to the governor’s family mistakenly shot Atsi.

She was immediately moved to an Abuja hospital for advanced medical attention but succumbed to the injuries sustained from the gunshot.
