Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of diesel to N1,020 per litre, down from N1,075.
This marks the latest in a series of price cuts since it started diesel production in January 2024, when the price was N1,700 per litre.
The company’s decision aims to ease costs for businesses and consumers.
The latest reduction of N55 per litre follows reports that the refinery had previously covered over N10 billion in expenses to maintain stable fuel prices during the festive period.
An analyst noted that Nigeria is moving towards self-sufficiency in petroleum products, with major international companies now purchasing refined fuel from the country.
This shift is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s role in the global energy market.
