FG Begins Free Skills Training Program For Female Students

The Federal Government through the office of the Senior Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Students Engagement has kick-started free skills training for female students.

Disclosing the development, the SSA on Students Engagement, Hon. Asefon Sunday said the program is for young female students across the country.

The students will be trained on photography, web design, graphics design and cinematography.

In a press statement by Asefon, the project is a key step in advancing the vision of President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

The statement reads:
Today 8th of September, we officially launch the Free Skills Training Program for Female Students
Ahead of the Official Launch of Project RISE – Renewed Hope for Inclusion, Support, and Empowerment.

It gives me great joy to welcome you on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR as we launch this free skills acquisition program specially designed for our vibrant and young female students across Nigeria. As you know, we are preparing for the official launch of Project RISE – Renewed Hope for Inclusion, Support, and Empowerment. This project is a key step in advancing the vision of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who is a firm believer in the He-for-She movement and a strong advocate for women’s empowerment.

Today’s training is a practical demonstration of that renewed hope. For the next three weeks, 100 female students selected from across institutions here in Abuja will be trained intensively by experts in four strategic skill areas:
Photography
Web Design
Graphics Design
Cinematography

At the end of this program, participants will not only gain valuable knowledge but also receive certification that will give them an edge in the digital and creative economy. More importantly, they will gain confidence, independence, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Let me emphasize this: investing in the girl child is investing in the future. Our daughters, sisters, and female colleagues are not just beneficiaries of society, they are its pillars and foundation. When we equip them with the right skills, we empower entire communities and strengthen our nation.

I must commend our partners, trainers, and the organizing team whose tireless efforts have made this program possible. Your contribution is sowing seeds that will blossom into a more inclusive, innovative, and prosperous Nigeria.

To our dear students, I urge you to take this training seriously. The future belongs to you, and the skills you acquire here will open doors of opportunity beyond what you can imagine. Be disciplined, be creative, and above all, be determined to make a difference.

Together, through Project RISE and initiatives like this, we are sending a strong message: the Nigerian girl child is not left behind; she is rising.
