FG Approves Over 30,000 Recruitments Into Civil Service, Warns Job Seekers To Beware Of Scammers

Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has warned Nigerian job seekers to beware of fraudsters spreading fake information about recruitment into the paramilitary services.

According to a statement released on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in Abuja, the Board’s Secretary, retired Major General A.M. Jibril, noted that a fake letter is being shared on social media, pretending to give details about the recruitment exercise.

Jibril confirmed that President Bola Tinubu has approved the hiring of 30,150 new intakes for the four paramilitary services, as well as 209 workers for the Board’s secretariat. but noted that the recruitment has not yet started.

Continuing, he explained that the Board is currently seeking approval to shorten the usual six-week advertisement period in newspapers to three weeks, to speed up the recruitment process.

He stressed that when recruitment officially begins, it will be clearly announced in well-known national newspapers. The process will be free, fair, and transparent.

Here is the number of new recruits approved for each service:

Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS): 5,150Nigeria: Nigerian fashion
Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS): 10,000
Federal Fire Service (FFS): 10,000
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC): 5,000
CDCFIB Secretariat: 209

The Board urged Nigerians not to fall for scams or pay anyone for recruitment. It also advised people to report anyone asking for money or sharing fake job offers. Nigeria: Nigerian fashion

The Board promised to remain fair and honest in all its recruitment exercises.

The CDCFIB encouraged interested applicants to stay informed by following official announcements and not rely on unverified social media posts.

It reiterated that recruitment into any of the paramilitary services will be public, structured, and accessible to all qualified Nigerians.

As anticipation grows for the official commencement, the Board appealed for patience and vigilance.

It assured the public that once the waiver is granted and the advertisement is approved, the recruitment process will begin in earnest and will strictly follow established guidelines.
