'Enough Of The Distractions', NANS Zone D Stands With Olojede, Calls For Unity, Peace

The leadership of NANS Southwest (Zone D) through the Office of the NANS Zonal Treasurer, wishes to address the recent call by a faction within the Federation of Oyo State Students’ Union (FOSSU) National Council for a so-called peaceful protest against Hon. Victor Olojede, the Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Oyo State on Students’ Affairs.

This protest, which has been framed around allegations of “imposition” and “threat to life,” is not only ill-advised but appears to be politically motivated and not in the interest of the Oyo State student community.

We view this action as a clear attempt to destabilize the peaceful engagement between the state government and the student populace, an engagement that has flourished under the guidance and tireless efforts of Hon. Victor Olojede.

Let the records be set straight: Hon. Victor Olojede is a committed, responsive, and transparent leader who has consistently delivered on his mandate as SSA on Students’ Affairs. His accessibility, willingness to engage, and proactive leadership style have made him a bridge between the government and the student community.

The leadership of NANS Zone D hereby pass a Vote of Confidence on Hon. Victor Olojede. We commend the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, for entrusting a visionary and hardworking youth leader with such a critical responsibility. The progress we have seen is a testament to that decision.

This is not the time for politically induced distractions. We urge all students, stakeholders, and union leaders to be wary of being used as tools in selfish agendas. Let us prioritize unity, dialogue, and developmental engagement over division and baseless protests.

We also call on security agencies to monitor such planned actions closely to ensure that the peace in the state is not threatened under any guise.
