GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that Leo Emmanuel Oladokun has been elected as the 12th President of LEO District 404B2, Nigeria.
In an acceptance speech received by our correspondent, LEO Oladokun appreciated his predecessors, fellow LEOs and promise to keenly pursue the Lion Service Year theme tagged “Innovative leadership, Service beyond self”.
The District President-elect’s acceptance speech reads;
“I am humbled to accept the opportunity to serve as the 12th President of LEO District 404B2, Nigeria, with a deep commitment to serving our great district. I am grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me and pledge to tirelessly uphold our organisation’s values and principles.
I pay tribute to my predecessors, whose selfless dedication has established a strong foundation for our district’s growth. I also extend my appreciation to my fellow LEOs, whose enthusiasm and camaraderie will be vital in driving our district’s continued progress.”
The theme for the Lion Service Year was unveiled: “Innovative leadership, Service beyond self”. The official 2025/2026 logo was also unveiled, which bears an arch with three edges representing service, leadership and friendship.
The Leo logo is surrounded by rays of light, symbolising the impact and influence of the Leo Club as they spread service and positivity across the community. It also represents hope, guidance and the illuminating power of service beyond self. Abstract human icons with service hands, which represent the concept of service as being inclusive, with people reaching out to help others, the act of giving, helping, and supporting beyond one’s own needs, the two figures signify unity, teamwork, and collective action.
The District Officers were presented to the Leos, Lion leaders and all present. With the core officers being: Immediate Past District President, District 1st Vice President, District 2nd Vice President, District Secretary, District Treasurer, District Chief of Staff, District Chief of Protocol, District Director of Welfare, District Administrator, Deputy Secretary, Deputy Treasurer, amongst others.
The District President-elect’s Vision of the Lion Service Year covers;
Positive leadership and empowerment
Effective global action team
Partnership and collaboration
Fellowship across borders
Solid marketing and communications.
His mission is to cover core values such as: Accountability, Accessibility, Welfare and Quality service. The Lions international global causes, which are: Diabetes, Hunger relief, Vision, Environment, Pediatric cancer, Youth development, Humanitarian service, Disaster relief.
The District President-elect’s in his closing remarks, stated that he is fully aware of the challenges ahead, but he is confident that with the collective strength of every LEO in the district, remarkable milestones can be achieved by serving better collectively, with commitment, passion, and unity, not only the goals will be achieved but it would also inspire future leaders to continue the legacy of excellence in service.
He urged all the Leos of District 404B2 to embrace the service year theme with passion. In his words, he said, “Let us lead innovatively and serve selflessly, knowing that our collective efforts will leave a mark not just in our communities but in the hearts of those we touch. I am more ready than ever to develop our LEO program and share with individuals with like minds the possibility of increasing service and right leadership to members of our District”.
He also engaged all Lions and LEO leaders of the district who have an interest in LEOs at heart, and Past District Presidents on sustainable development goals, believing that the service year is already a great success.
