Court Docked Man For Lying Against Pastor, Family In Ibadan

A58-year-old man, Michael Oritudafila, on Friday, appeared before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over alleged false information.

Mr Oritudafila, whose address was not provided, is being tried on a charge of giving false information, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Insp Samuel Owolabi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 24, 2025, at the police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan.

Mr Owolabi alleged that the defendant gave the police false information that one Pastor Adekunle Obasa and his family stole his 250 blocks and also threatened his life.

He alleged that the defendant deliberately volunteered the information knowing it was false and therefore committed an offence contrary to provisions of Section 125(A) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The magistrate, Gladys Olanrewaju, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until March 2 for a hearing.
