Popular American conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel have been seen with a newborn baby, sparking speculation about their family life.
The sisters, who gained fame in the 1990s and later starred in a TLC reality series, were spotted on Thursday carrying the infant in a car seat before placing the child into the back of a black Tesla in a parking lot in Arden Hills, Minnesota, about 10 miles from Minneapolis.
According to the Daily Mail, it has not yet been confirmed whether the baby belongs to the twins, and their representative has not commented.
The development comes months after revelations that Abby married U.S. Army veteran Joshua Bowling in 2021, a union that remained private until last year. Reports at the time also noted that Abby became stepmother to Bowling’s daughter from a previous relationship, according to TMZ.
In a 2003 documentary titled Joined for Life, the sisters had expressed a desire to one day have children. Public interest in their private lives intensified after Today.com obtained Abby and Bowling’s marriage records, followed by Bowling updating his Facebook profile to include a family photo with both Abby and Brittany.
The marriage and their personal lives have drawn widespread attention and online scrutiny. In response, the sisters have openly pushed back against criticism.
In a TikTok video after the marriage became public, they wrote, “This Is a Message To All the Haters Out There. If You Don’t Like What I Do But You Watch Everything I’m Doing You’re Still a Fan.”
The twins also shared TikTok clips from Abby’s wedding in June 2024, including a video of her first dance with Bowling, set to a remix of Adele’s Rolling in the Deep. Another post featured the caption, “We know you think you know us,” paired with Justine Skye’s Collide.
Abby and Brittany share organs below the waist, have one bloodstream, and each controls one side of their body — Abby the right, Brittany the left.
They first rose to prominence with an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1996, later featuring on the cover of LIFE magazine. Their TLC series documented their years at Minnesota’s Bethel University and travels through Europe, offering viewers an intimate glimpse into their daily experiences.
