President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently meeting with his Sierra Leonian counterpart, President Julius Maada Bio, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
President Julius Maada Bio arrived at the Presidential Villa at about 9 pm Nigerian time and was received by senior government officials.
The Sierra Leonean leader, is the current Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
While details of the meeting have not yet been made known, GISTSMATE MEDIA understands that discussions with President Tinubu might not be unconnected with regional peace and economic cooperation within the West African subregion.
President Tinubu, who is the immediate past ECOWAS Chairman, is said to be hosting Bio as part of consultations aimed at strengthening the regional bloc and addressing current challenges facing member states, especially in the area of security.
Meanwhile, announcing his arrival in Nigeria on his X handle, the ECOWAS Chairman wrote, “This evening, I arrived in Abuja to speak at Baze University’s 12th Convocation and discuss with top African business leaders there. Looking forward to productive engagement.”
