BREAKING: Reps In Rowdy Session Over Move To Rescind Electoral Act Amendment Bill

Tuesday’s proceedings at the House of Assembly devolved into chaos following a motion to rescind the passage of the Electoral Act amendment bill.

The development comes after the House reconvened from its budget defence sessions to reconsider some clauses in the bill.

Francis Waive, the Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business, moved a motion for the House to rescind its decision on the bill in December.

Waive was seconded by Bayo Balogun, the Chair of the Committee on Electoral Matters.

When the question was put out by the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, the nays were in the majority. However, the Speaker ruled otherwise, leading to a rowdy moment.
