BREAKING: Reps End Plenary With No Mention Of Rivers Emergency Rule Declaration

The House of Representatives on Wednesday ended plenary without any mention of the state of emergency in Rivers State.

GISTSMATE MEDIA reported that nembers of the house of representatives are locked in a heated exchange before today’s setting, in expectation of debate on emergency rule in Rivers state.

The shouting match began as the legislators entered the chamber — way before the commencement of plenary.

Recall that on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers following the prolonged political crisis in the south-south state.

The president also suspended Siminalayi Fubara, governor of the state; Ngozi Odu, his deputy; and members of the state assembly.

Tinubu nominated Ibok-Ete Ibas, a retired vice-admiral, to administer the state.
