The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its Board of Trustees (BOT) chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, over alleged anti-party activities.
GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that the suspension is coming at a time when the party is weathering through crises.
The suspension was handed down by the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party in Abia State.
According to sources within the party, the decision to suspend Wabara was taken during a meeting presided over by the State Chairman, Abraham Amah.
Former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, an ally to FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, is said to have firm control of the Abia PDP, which may have influenced the decision to suspend Wabara.
The BoT, led by Wabara, had recently backed Ude Okoye as the party’s authentic National Secretary, contrary to Wike’s preference for Samuel Anyanwu.
