GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that the Nigeria’s national electricity grid collapsed again on Wednesday.
Data from the Independent System Operator (ISO) revealed that power generation dropped from 2,917.83 megawatts (MW) to just 1.5MW between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m, confirming a national grid collapse.
In a statement to its customers, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) explained that the outage across its franchise area was due to the grid failure, which occurred around 11:23 a.m.
“Please be informed that the power outage currently being experienced is due to a loss of supply from the national grid at 11:23 hrs today, affecting electricity supply across our franchise areas.
“Rest assured, we are working closely with the relevant stakeholders to ensure power is restored once the grid is stabilised.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding,” AEDC stated.
