Ahmad Bayouk, described as a terrorist who participated in the October 7 Massacre by infiltrating the Re’im base, has been eliminated by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (ISA).
According to the IDF on Sunday, Bayouk “infiltrated the Re’im base during the October 7 Massacre” and was later targeted after “operating to rebuild terror capabilities and advance attacks against IDF troops.”
In a related development, Azem Abu Huli was also eliminated. He was identified as “Head of the Islamic Jihad’s Nukhba Array in the Central Camps sector.”
Authorities stated that Abu Huli was responsible for “procuring weapons and overseeing terrorist training.”
On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel.
Armed fighters crossed from Gaza into southern Israel, killing around 1,200 people and taking about 250 hostages. The attack shocked Israel and the wider world, and within hours the Israeli government declared war.
Israel responded with massive airstrikes and later ground operations in Gaza. The bombings targeted Hamas positions but also hit homes, schools, hospitals, and refugee camps.
As the war escalated, thousands of Palestinians were killed, including women, children, and journalists. Entire neighborhoods were flattened, and basic services like water, electricity, and healthcare collapsed.
The fighting displaced huge numbers of people. Families fled their homes, often with nowhere safe to go, as Gaza’s population faced shortages of food, medicine, and shelter.
Over time, the death toll in Gaza climbed into the tens of thousands, making it one of the deadliest conflicts in the region’s history.
Earlier on Sunday, SaharaReporters noted that at least nine Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across northern and southern Gaza, including one strike that hit a tent encampment sheltering displaced families, according to Palestinian civil defence and health officials.
Medics said the airstrike on the tent encampment claimed the lives of at least four people, while health officials reported that another strike in Khan Younis in the south killed five.
