AYC Commends President Tinubu, Passes Vote Of Confidence On HYPPADEC DG Yelwa

The Arewa Youth Congress (AYC), a foremost youth platform representing millions of young men and women across Northern Nigeria, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his unwavering support to the Hydropower Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC).

In a press conference held at Arewa House, Kaduna, the group applauded the President for reappointing Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa as Managing Director/CEO of HYPPADEC, describing the decision as a “bold validation of competence and vision.”

According to the Speaker of AYC, Amb. Hassan Sadau, the leadership of Alhaji Yelwa has transformed HYPPADEC into “a true vehicle of grassroots development.” He highlighted Yelwa’s achievements, including youth empowerment programs, provision of boreholes and solar electrification, flood resilience projects, and the expansion of HYPPADEC’s interventions to more states.

“These are not promises but verifiable realities on the ground,” Sadau stated.

“Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa’s performance is proof of leadership that delivers, and we proudly pass a resounding vote of confidence in his stewardship.”

The AYC also praised President Tinubu for “rewarding competence with continuity,” stressing that the Renewed Hope Agenda is already yielding results through effective institutions and capable leaders.

“With the continued support of Mr. President and the proven leadership of Alhaji Yelwa, hydropower-producing communities are assured of greater transformation and sustainable development,” the statement concluded.
