Asefon Hails President Tinubu Over Historic N3.5 Trn Budget Allocation For Education

The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Students Engagement, Hon. Comrade Asefon Sunday Dayo has lauded Mr President over allocation of N3.5 trillion to the education sector in the 2025 budget.

GISTSMATE MEDIA reported that security and defence, infrastructure, health and education were some of the sectors with high allocations in the N47.9tn Budget Proposal presented by President Bola Tinubu before a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday afternoon.

“It is with great pleasure that I lay before this distinguished joint session of the National Assembly, the 2025 Budget of the National Assembly of Nigeria titled, ‘The Resurrection Budget’ security peace, building prosperity,” Tinubu said as he concluded his speech at 1:10pm on Wednesday.

Earlier in his presentation, the President listed some of the highlights of the budget as defence and security – N4.91tn, infrastructure – N4.06tn, health – N2.4tn, education – N3.5tn, among others.

Reacting to the 3.5 trillion proposed allocation in the budget, Asefon disclosed that Tinubu’s action shows his remarkable commitment and belief in the educational sector of the country.

He said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has allocated an unprecedented ₦3.5 trillion for education in the 2025 budget—the highest in Nigeria’s history.

“This remarkable commitment underscores his belief that education is the best legacy to empower the youth. With this landmark investment, affordable and quality education at all levels is now within reach, bringing renewed hope to students and families nationwide.

“Truly, this is a transformative step towards building a brighter future for Nigeria.

“Thank you, Mr. President, for prioritizing the education sector.”
