Arsenal Stun Barca To Win Women’s Champions League

Arsenal, on Saturday, pulled off a stunning 1-0 victory over Barcelona to lift the Women’s Champions League in Lisbon.

Stina Blackstenius’ late goal proved to be the winner in a game where the Gunners were largely dominated.

But in the end, the English team managed to clinch their second European crown against the odds.

Blackstenius picked up the ball in the box and drilled it past the goalkeeper in the 74th minute.

The Swedish striker’s goal ensured that Arsenal beat a Barcelona side that had won the trophy three times in the previous four seasons.

It was Arsenal’s first final since 2007, and although they outplayed Barça in the first half, they had to hold them off in the second.

On their way to the final, Renée Slegers’ side showed their mettle with a superb win over record eight-time winners Lyon in the semi-final.

They have now stopped Pere Romeu’s Barça from claiming the trophy for a third consecutive season.
