GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that the senators from the South-Eastern part of Nigeria have declared their support for the President Bola Tinubu’s Tax Reform Bills.
This was disclosed via a terse statement shared via the X handle of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu on Monday, December 9.
The statement reads: “The Tax Reforms Bills were thoroughly deliberated during the South-East Senate Caucus today which I actively participated in.
“While it was agreed that the Bill should be supported, it was agreed that extensive consultations with all major stakeholders.”
Recall that GISTSMATE MEDIA earlier reported that all senators from the south-south geopolitical zone in the 10th Senate have also endorsed the tax reform bills currently under consideration by the National Assembly.
In a communiqué released in Abuja, the senators also expressed unwavering confidence in Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Their support for the Tax Bills came amid resistance from certain quarters calling for their withdrawal by the presidency.
