The Niger State Police Command has arrested four men accused of offering their biological children for sacrifice in an alleged attempt to acquire wealth through money rituals.
A 40-year-old native doctor was also arrested in connection with the alleged plot, bringing the total number of suspects to five.
The suspects were identified as Ibrahim Mohammed Hamisu, 43; Abubakar Abdullahi, 40; Aliyu Sule, 25; Mohammed Idris Dogara, 57; and Shehu Abubakar, 40, the alleged native doctor.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the arrests were made at an isolated compound in the Garima area of Bosso, Minna.
Abiodun said operatives attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit received intelligence about suspicious activities at the location during a routine patrol and immediately moved in.
Police investigations reportedly revealed that the four men had approached the native doctor to perform money rituals using a human skeleton allegedly discovered during mining activities.

👉 JOIN GISTSMATE WHATSAPP CHANNELThe native doctor initially declined, saying he did not offer such services. However, the four men allegedly persisted and offered their biological children as sacrifices in exchange for different sums of money.
The police said the native doctor subsequently instructed each of them to purchase a chicken and assemble at a designated location for the ritual.
Officers reportedly arrested the suspects while the preparations were underway. One of them, Aliyu Sule, was allegedly found holding a blood-stained knife and preparing to slaughter his chicken, while three others had already slaughtered theirs.
Items recovered included four calabashes, blood-stained clothing, two live chickens, three slaughtered chickens, a blood-stained knife and a large mat.
The police said the suspects were undergoing further investigation before being charged to court.
However, the police account did not disclose the identities or whereabouts of the children allegedly offered for the ritual.
