President Bola Tinubu is expected to induct five helicopters into the Nigerian Air Forceโs order of battle as part of efforts to strengthen the countryโs air power and tackle security threats.
The helicopters comprise two Airbus H125s and three Leonardo AW109 Trekker B aircraft.
The acquisition is part of the Federal Governmentโs drive to modernise the Nigerian Air Force and enhance its operational capacity against security threats across the country.
According to the Nigerian Air Force, the Federal Government had earlier taken delivery of two Airbus H125 helicopters, while three AW109 Trekker B helicopters arrived in Lagos on September 15.
The three AW109 helicopters are part of a larger order of ten aircraft, with the remaining seven expected before the end of 2026.
The induction is expected to strengthen the Air Forceโs operational capabilities and support ongoing military operations across multiple theatres.
