FLASH: Fire Outbreak Hits Ministry Of Works Headquarters In Abuja

GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that a minor fire outbreak occurred on Friday morning at the Federal Ministry of Works headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja.

The fire, triggered by a faulty circuit breaker in the electrical control room, was swiftly brought under control with no significant damage or casualties reported.

Mohammed A. Ahmed, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry, confirmed the incident, stating, “A minor fire incident occurred at 11:30 am at Block A of the Ministry.”

He attributed the outbreak to a spark from a faulty circuit breaker on the ground floor.

Firefighters from the Federal Fire Service, led by Station Commander Kekai Bekebi, responded quickly, deploying fire extinguishers to manage the situation.

“A successful evacuation of staff was carried out,” Bekebi said, commending the team for their prompt action.

According to Aliyu Abdullahi, Director of Human Resource Management, no injuries or losses were recorded.

“No documents were lost, and there were no casualties,” Abdullahi remarked, praising the staff’s conduct during the evacuation.

Following the incident, maintenance personnel cleared debris and resumed normal activities.
