Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has declared that Nigeria will be transformed into a developed nation comparable to the United States and England once the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are fully realized.
GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that Governor Okpebholo made the statement while campaigning and expressing his strong backing for the Tinubu administration, describing the President’s policies as bold, necessary and transformational.
According to the Governor, if Nigeria had been blessed with leaders possessing Tinubu’s vision and courage in the past, the country would have long attained the status of developed nations like the U.S. and the United Kingdom.
“Nigeria will bounce back. If we had leaders like Tinubu before now, Nigeria would be like America, England. When Tinubu is done with his reforms, Nigeria will be like America, England,” Okpebholo stated.
The Governor credited the administration with demonstrating economic courage, citing two major policies as evidence — the removal of fuel subsidy and the signing of new tax reform bills into law.
He noted that although the reforms may come with initial pains, they are strategic steps aimed at fixing long-standing structural gaps in the economy and setting the nation on the path of sustainable growth.
