A 29-year-old mother was arrested Monday after police said she left her four children home alone while she went on a cruise.
Nathalie Belizaire was arrested on four counts of child neglect, according to authorities.
“You were arrested for four counts of child neglect,” a judge said.
Cruise ticket posted on social media
Officials said that on Sept. 24, Belizaire posted what appeared to be a cruise ticket for a Carnival cruise line on social media.
That same day, she allegedly told a man, possibly the father of her 2-month-old daughter, that she would be “dropping the children off with their great-grandmother.”
“One baby, the baby was born in July of this year. Who just leaves a baby alone like that?” the judge said.

Police forced their way into the home and found the children “hiding in the bathroom.”
“There you are,” an officer said, according to body camera video of the encounter.
The children appeared to be shaken, the video showed.
“Just two of you? Three? Four?” an officer asked.
Investigators said Belizaire left all four children, including a 2-month-old and a 2-year-old, without adult supervision.

Police said Belizaire traveled out of town aboard the cruise ship. She disembarked Monday and was arrested at the Port of Miami, where officials were waiting for her.
She was taken into custody by the North Miami Beach Police Department.
The judge ordered no contact between Belizaire and the children.
“No contact with the alleged victims either directly, indirectly, in person, in writing, by telephone, or through third parties. You must stay at least 500 feet away from the victims. They’re home and school at all times,” the judge said.
The judge set bond at $10,000.
