As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election, attention is increasingly returning to the record of lawmakers seeking to retain their seats and the expectations of constituents across Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.
Hon. Oluwatimehin Adelegbe, the member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has attracted attention over a number of constituency projects and interventions reportedly facilitated across Owo and Ose Local Government Areas.
Among the projects attributed to his representation is the construction of a Hall of Fame building at the Olowo’s Palace in Owo, a project designed to contribute to the preservation and promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of the ancient town.
In Ose Local Government Area, Adelegbe has been associated with the supply of medical equipment to the Okeluse Community Health Centre, providing support for healthcare delivery and improving the capacity of the facility to attend to residents of the community.
The representative has also been linked to several educational and youth development projects across the constituency. These include the construction of a well equipped skill acquisition centre at Adeyeri Grammar School, Iyere, in Owo Local Government Area, as well as another skill acquisition centre at Ireakari Grammar School, Idoani, in Ose Local Government Area.
The reported projects also include the construction of a six-block classroom facility at Okeluse Anglican Grammar School in Ose Local Government Area and the construction of a science laboratory building at Uso Grammar School, Uso, in Owo Local Government Area.

Event and community town halls have been constructed or facilitated in several communities, including Ifon, Idogun and Okeluse in Ose Local Government Area, as well as Isuada in Owo Local Government Area.
The community town hall at Okeluse and the renovation of the community town hall at Afo are also among the projects attributed to the lawmaker.
Road infrastructure remains another major area of concern in Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, particularly because of the importance of rural roads to agriculture, commerce, education, healthcare and movement between communities.
Adelegbe has been credited with facilitating the rehabilitation of the Ipele-Ifon Road in Ose Local Government Area and the rehabilitation of the Sobe, Ijagba-Arimogija-Imoru-Ute-Okeluse road. The Ipele-Ifon Road has also featured in legislative efforts at the National Assembly.
In December 2020, the House of Representatives considered a motion sponsored by Adelegbe concerning security and infrastructure challenges in Ose, with the House mandating its Works Committee to pursue the rehabilitation of the Ipele-Ifon Road and other identified road projects.
Electricity infrastructure is another area where constituency intervention has been reported. Among the projects listed is the repair of a transformer at Ikare Junction in Owo. More recent reports have also attributed wider electricity restoration and rural electrification efforts in Ose to Adelegbe.
Beyond physical infrastructure, his constituency interventions have reportedly extended to water, agriculture and economic empowerment. Reports have attributed the rehabilitation of numerous boreholes across the constituency to his interventions, while improved cocoa seedlings have also reportedly been distributed to farmers.
These interventions are particularly relevant to Owo/Ose, where agriculture, small scale businesses and rural economic activities remain important sources of livelihood for many residents.
Taken together, the projects attributed to Adelegbe cover several areas, including education, healthcare, roads, electricity, water, agriculture, youth empowerment, skills acquisition, community infrastructure and cultural development.
The geographical spread of the projects also cuts across several communities in both Owo and Ose Local Government Areas, giving constituents an opportunity to assess the interventions within their respective communities.
As the 2027 general election approaches, the record of the incumbent will naturally form part of the issues that constituents may consider.
Such an assessment can include the number of projects delivered, their locations, their current condition, their usefulness to residents, the extent of legislative representation, accessibility to constituents, efforts to attract federal projects and the sustainability of the interventions.
