President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Mr Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 27, 2026.
Enitan succeeds Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who is due to retire from the Federal Civil Service upon attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.
The new Head of Service, who hails from Osun State, is the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

President Tinubu expressed appreciation to Walson-Jack for her service to the country, particularly the reforms, innovations and other developments recorded in the Civil Service during her tenure.
The President also wished her a fulfilling post-retirement life and commended her years of dedicated public service.
Tinubu charged Enitan to consolidate ongoing reforms and innovations in the Civil Service while strengthening professionalism, efficiency and accountability across government ministries, departments and agencies.
He further urged the incoming Head of Service to build a merit-driven, innovative and responsive Civil Service capable of effectively delivering the administrationโs Renewed Hope Agenda and meeting the needs of Nigerians.
