GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for Abia State, Dr. Doris Ogala, stated that seeking the unconditional release and pardon of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu would be her first major action in office.
The nollywood actress turned politician said the statement during an interview on ABN TV.
“If I am the governor today, the first thing I will seek is Nnamdi Kanu’s pardon,” Ogala declared.
She added that her administration would push for his immediate freedom if she wins the 2027 election.
Buttressing her point, she described the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a “brother” and a prophetic figure, while directly appealing to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to review and end Kanu’s detention via political dialogue.
She also expressed confidence that the AAC presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, would grant Kanu freedom on his first day if elected at the federal level.
Her call for Kanu’s release has sparked reactions online. While some of her followers hailed her call, some netizens believe the actress is acting a script and not ripe for governance.
