Remain Steadfast In Speaking Truth To Power – Peter Obi Tells Church Leaders

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on leaders of the church to remain steadfast in speaking truth to power at all times.

In a post on his verified X handle on Thursday, Obi made the call at the opening of the 50th/15th Biennial Conference of the Methodist Church of Nigeria in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

He charged the church leaders to keep standing with the suffering masses, and continuing to advocate for justice, good governance, and a better Nigeria for all.

According to him, the Church remains one of Nigeria’s strongest voices of hope, conscience, and moral leadership.

“Yesterday, I joined my dear brother, Governor Seyi Makinde, and faithful members of the Methodist Church from across the country and beyond.

“I thank God for His faithfulness to the Methodist Church over the years and reflect on the immense potential Nigeria possesses as a nation.

“I encourage the Church and its delegates to remain steadfast in speaking truth to power.

“I urge them always to pray that God Almighty would touch the hearts of politicians and leaders, so that they will always think and use public resources for the public good,” he wrote.
