Popular Fuji musician, Taye Adebisi, widely known as Taye Currency, has celebrated his son, Samsudeen Adebisi, following his call to the Nigerian bar.
The Ibadan-born singer took to his Instagram page on Tuesday to announce the milestone, describing it as the reward for years of hard work, dedication and resilience.
Sharing a video from the occasion, the Fuji star wrote, “I am incredibly proud of you. Your dedication, late-night studies, and resilience have finally paid off. Officially becoming a barrister and solicitor is a monumental milestone. May your legal career be filled with wisdom, success and fulfilment. Congratulations on this great achievement, my son, Barrister Samsudeen Adebisi. More success ahead.”
The accompanying video captured an emotional father-and-son moment.
Samsudeen appeared dressed in the ceremonial wig and black gown worn by newly admitted legal practitioners, while Taye Currency embraced him warmly and exchanged heartfelt words, visibly overwhelmed with joy as they celebrated the achievement together.
The latest feat adds to a growing list of accomplishments among the musician’s children, whom he has repeatedly described as his greatest source of pride.
One of his sons, Yusuf Adebisi, previously served as a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, representing Ibadan South-West State Constituency I.
The lawmaker was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party and was among the youngest members of the Assembly during his tenure.
Beyond his sons’ achievements, Taye Currency has, on several occasions, publicly spoken about his daughters’ successes, saying he is grateful that all his children have continued to distinguish themselves in their respective careers and pursuits.
In interviews, the Fuji star has often attributed their accomplishments to discipline, sound upbringing and the value he places on education despite his demanding music career.
Known for blending traditional Fuji rhythms with contemporary influences, Taye Currency has remained one of the leading figures in the genre for more than two decades.
He rose to prominence through performances across the South-West and has since built a loyal fan base with numerous albums and live performances. His influence extends beyond music, particularly in Oyo State, where he is regarded as one of the state’s most prominent indigenous entertainers.
