NAPS Commends MAPOLY SUG President, Big Afo, On Successful Hosting Of Zlatan At ‘Symbol Of Hope’ Event

The National Association of Polytechnic Students, Ogun State Liaison Committee (NAPS OGSLC), under the leadership of its Chairman, Comrade Opatumibi Boluwatife Joshua Pka Lush, has extended warm and hearty congratulations to Comrade Senator Temitope Afolabi Pka BIG AFO, the Students’ Union President of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta (MAPOLY), on the remarkable success of the recently held event tagged “SYMBOL OF HOPE”, which featured the iconic Nigerian music star and proud alumnus of the institution, Zlatan Ibile.

Reacting to the success of the ongoing event, Opatumibi in a press statement said “this historic event is not just a celebration of entertainment, but a bold statement of inspiration and motivation to every polytechnic student across Ogun State and Nigeria at large.

“By bringing back Zlatan Ibile, a product of MAPOLY who has risen to national and international prominence through sheer grit, creativity, and resilience, Comrade BIG AFO has indeed given life to the theme “SYMBOL OF HOPE”.

“The event reminded thousands of students that greatness can emerge from our polytechnics, and that with hard work, dedication, consistency, and an unshaken will to succeed, their dreams remain valid regardless of the challenges within the educational system.

Opatumibi furthered that Comrade Afolabi leadership in the institution has been outstanding and has gone beyond a just student unionism scopes.

“NAPS OGSLC recognizes and applauds the visionary leadership of Comrade Senator Temitope Afolabi for conceiving and executing an initiative that goes beyond the usual scope of student unionism.

“At a time when students face academic, economic, and social pressures, programs like this rekindle hope, boost morale, and strengthen the bond between alumni and current students. It sends a clear message: the polytechnic system is a breeding ground for talent, innovation, and leadership.

“We particularly commend the peaceful conduct, massive turnout, and the organizational excellence that characterized the event. It reflects the capacity of the MAPOLY Students’ Union Government to unite students, engage stakeholders, and project the image of the institution positively to the world.”

Opatumibi restated the NAPS Ogun liaison office and commitments to support any SUG President who will be willing to embark on such meaningful event in the state.

He said, “as the apex student body for all polytechnic students in Ogun State, NAPS OGSLC reaffirms its commitment to supporting student leaders who prioritize welfare, empowerment, and inspiration. We urge other student union governments across polytechnics in the state to emulate this template of purposeful leadership that blends entertainment with enlightenment.

“Once again, we congratulate Comrade Senator Temitope Afolabi Pka BIG AFO, the entire Students’ Union executives, and the management of MAPOLY for hosting an event that will linger in the memories of students as a true symbol of hope.

“May this be the beginning of more impactful programs that will continue to inspire the next generation of leaders from our polytechnics”, the statement reads.
