2027: Current Opposition Unserious, Fighting For Personal Interest – Gov Sani

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has lashed out at the current opposition political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Featuring in an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ on Tuesday, Sani said the memebrs of the opposition were not serious, stressing that they were only fighting for their personal interest.

He said in the last three months, they have been jumping from one party to another, looking for a platform

“The current opposition in Nigeria, are they really fighting the ruling party because they believe in Nigeria?

“It’s all about their personal interests. These guys are not serious. They are not political parties based on what they believe in or what they can do.

“I don’t think they are organised as you are looking at them. You need to ask them to show you the evidence that the ruling party is fighting them because that’s what they keep saying.

“What’s their own agenda, ideology or philosophy? If you are in a political party, you have to sit down, build, organize and do whatever is necessary to protect the party. You can’t be jumping from one party to another,” the governor said.

In another development, GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Taiwo Oyedele has explained how President Bola Tinubu’s reforms prevented Nigeria’s economy from collapsing.

Oyedele said this on Tuesday in Abuja during a plenary at the 2026 Nigeria Employers’ Summit organised by the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA).

Oyedele who spoke on the theme, “The Reforms in Focus: The Milestones, The Challenges, The Prospects”, said Nigeria’s economy was nearing collapse before the reforms, especially the removal of fuel subsidy.

“Before the subsidy removal, Nigeria had less than three months before a major fuel crisis.

“People would have had money without finding petrol because the subsidy had become unsustainable,” he said. READ MORE
