The Ibadan North Federal Constituency hopeful and Pioneer Chairman of Aare Latoosa LCDA, Bashorun Adekunle Oladeji (Omo BAO), has joined in celebrating World Teachers’ Day, acknowledging the indispensable role teachers play in shaping a nation’s future. He emphasized that “teachers contribute positively to the ideal state.”
In a statement personally signed by him from his media office in Ibadan on Saturday, Omo BAO expressed heartfelt appreciation for his father, who was his first teacher, as well as the teachers at Government College Ibadan (GCI) who instilled values of obedience and good character.
“The efforts and role of teachers in the fabric of a nation’s existence cannot be overemphasized; they create a better future through our children,”
he said. “Our children need a strong educational foundation and upliftment to be able to compete in the global space.
Hence, the builders of our children’s future teachers must be encouraged and celebrated.”
Omo BAO also made a strong appeal to governments at all levels to urgently provide an enabling environment for teachers, including fair treatment and adequate support.
“I use this opportunity to advocate for teachers’ empowerment through educative programs, seminars, capacity training, and the provision of adequate equipment and facilities for our teachers across the nation,” he added, “as this will lead to even development in the educational sector.”
In conclusion, Omo BAO extended his warm wishes to all teachers in Ibadan North FC, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole: “May we all be rewarded for our good deeds.”
