There was minor drama at Polling Unit 10, Ward B, Iyin-Ekiti, in the ongoing Ekiti State Governorship Election, as voters forcibly drove away operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC team arrived at the polling unit while voting was in progress, apparently to monitor suspected vote-buying.
However, their presence was met with stiff resistance from voters, who questioned the reason for their deployment and demanded that they leave the area immediately.
The situation created tension at the polling unit, with some voters confronting the operatives and insisting there was no evidence of vote-buying.
The EFCC team eventually left the polling centre after the confrontation, while voting continued without further interruption.

In another development, GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that a drama ensued at Unit 4, Ward 2 in Ilawe Ekiti during the ongoing governorship election as supporters of the All Progressives Congress and the African Democratic Congress engaged in a heated argument over allegations of vote buying.
The candidate of the ADC, Mr Dare Bejide, who cast his vote at the unit, alleged that some politicians brought an undisclosed amount of money to be distributed at the polling unit but were prevented.
He also alleged that a chieftain of the APC entered the area in a Toyota Jeep, a few metres away from the polling unit, with a large sum of money and was preparing to share it. He said the development led to an argument and a fight.
It was observed that one of the ADC supporters sustained an injury to the head during the fracas and was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment. READ MORE
