‘Ashawo Must Go,’ Drama As Married Women Protest Against Alleged S3x Workers In Enugu

There was tension in parts of Enugu State as a group of married women staged a protest against alleged sex workers operating within their communities, accusing them of “taking over their husbands and sons.”

The women, who marched through major streets in a visibly emotional demonstration, carried placards with inscriptions such as “Ashawo must go” and “Leave our husbands alone.”

According to the protesters, the presence of sex workers in their area has allegedly contributed to rising cases of marital disputes, broken homes, and moral decay.

They claimed that many married men and young men in the community have been “lured away,” leading to instability in families.

One of the protest leaders said the demonstration was necessary to draw attention from authorities and community leaders, insisting that urgent action must be taken to restore what they described as “decency and order” in their environment.

The protest reportedly disrupted movement in some parts of the city as the women blocked roads and sang solidarity songs while demanding the removal of the alleged sex workers.

In another development, GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that a popular clergyman has been arrested by Anambra State government for allegedly snatching up to 75 married women from their husbands.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dr Ejimofor Opara, confirmed his arrest in a Facebook post.
