The Oyo State Government has demolished the building used as a hideout by kidnappers who abducted the sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, alongside her twin sons.
According to reports, the state government said the demolition was aimed at reinforcing the state’s zero-tolerance stance against criminality.
The demolition exercise, which took place on Monday, was carried out by the Ministry of Lands and Housing in collaboration with security agencies following intelligence reports that linked the structure to the criminal gang responsible for the abduction.
Government officials said investigations conducted after the rescue operation identified the demolished structure as one of the locations where the victims were allegedly held during their captivity.
GISTSMATE MEDIA reports that police operatives rescued Adelabu’s younger sister, Olaide John-Paul, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, during a late-night operation on Saturday.
In an official statement, the NPF disclosed that the operation was carried out at about 7:30 pm on Saturday, by the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team in Ibadan, three days after the family was violently abducted during a school run.
John-Paul and her children were abducted on June 3 while on their way to school in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The abductors were said to have trailed the victims from their residence before intercepting and whisking them away.
