‘Terrorists Are Already In Lagos’ – Primate Ayodele Urges LASG To Ban Okada, Beggars, Wheelbarrow Pushers

The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has raised fresh security concerns about Lagos State, warning that terrorists have already infiltrated the commercial capital of Nigeria.

In a statement that has sparked widespread debate, the cleric called on the Lagos State Government (LASG) to take urgent preventive measures by banning commercial motorcycles (Okada), street begging, and wheelbarrow pushing activities across the state.

According to Primate Ayodele, these groups are allegedly being exploited as cover by criminal elements and individuals with intentions capable of threatening the security and stability of Lagos.

The outspoken prophet urged state authorities and security agencies to intensify surveillance, intelligence gathering, and profiling of suspicious individuals entering the state.

He stressed that proactive action is necessary to prevent potential security breaches that could endanger residents.
Primate Ayodele warned that Lagos, being Nigeria’s economic hub and one of Africa’s largest cities, remains a major target for criminal networks and terrorist groups seeking to cause disruption.

He appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and relevant authorities to prioritize security measures, strengthen border monitoring within the state, and ensure that public spaces are adequately protected.

The statement has generated mixed reactions among residents and social commentators. While some support the call for tighter security measures amid rising concerns about insecurity nationwide, others argue that banning Okada riders, beggars, and wheelbarrow pushers could negatively affect the livelihoods of many law-abiding citizens.

As discussions continue, security experts have emphasized the need for intelligence-driven operations rather than broad restrictions that may affect innocent individuals.

The Lagos State Government has yet to officially respond to Primate Ayodele’s latest warning.

With security remaining a major concern across Nigeria, the cleric’s remarks are expected to fuel further conversations on how best to balance public safety with economic realities in one of the country’s busiest states.
