‘Leave Now Or Face the Heat’ – Obi Loyalists Fire Blistering Warning At NDC South-West Chair, Dayo Ekong

Less than 24 hours after dumping African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), supporters of former Labour Party(LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, have launched a scathing attack on the NDC’s South-West chairperson, Dayo Ekong, accusing her of betrayal and demanding her immediate exit from the party.

In a strongly worded statement circulating on social media, the aggrieved supporters questioned Ekong’s loyalty, alleging that she had previously collaborated with LP’s Julius Abure to “sell the party’s mandate to the highest bidder” in the build up to the 2023 presidential election.

“Madam, are you the same woman that worked with Abure and sold our mandate? If yes, please pack your load and leave this party for us because e go hot for you,” the statement read.

The group further warned that Ekong’s continued presence in the party could trigger internal unrest, stressing that “affliction cannot rise a second time.” They insisted that her political history does not reflect the ideals they associate with Obi’s movement and vision for a “new Nigeria.”

In addition to calling for her resignation, the supporters suggested she should step down from any influential role and remain an ordinary member if she chooses to stay.

They also advised her to consider joining rival political platforms such as the All Progressives Congress or the African Democratic Congress, where, according to them, “her kind would be better suited.”

“Madam, are you the same woman that worked with Abure and sold our mandate to the highest bidder? If yes, please pack your load and leave this party for us because e go hot for you and affliction cannot rise a second time.

“Leave or just relegate any viable position you’re currently holding and just be a mere member. Your antecedents do not align with our vision for a better Nigeria. Go to APC or ADC, you’ll see your likes there,” the Obidients stated.

The development highlights growing tensions within the recently registered NDC political party’s ranks, particularly among factions claiming to uphold the core values of Obi’s political ideology.

As internal disagreements erupts with the what observers cantankerous nature of the Obidients, there is fear that the party may be heading toward a critical test of cohesion and unity ahead of 2027 elections.
