Man Arrested For Killing Two, Injuring Three In Late-Night Knife Attack In Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, for allegedly killing two people and critically injuring three others in a late-night knife attack in the Olámbe area of the state.

According to the police, Musa went on a violent rampage against his victims after failed business deals, attacking his victims, who were said to be trying to calm him down, with a knife.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 1:38 a.m., when Musa allegedly stabbed five individuals during the violent outburst.

Two of the victims, identified as 25-year-old Gbadamasi Ibrahim and 40-year-old Chinedu, died while being rushed to the hospital. Medical personnel later confirmed both men dead.

Three others: 35-year-old Mohammed Abubakar, 25-year-old Ashiru Adamu, and 25-year-old Paul Lawrence, sustained severe injuries and are currently in critical condition, where police said they are responding to treatment.

“The suspect ran away after the attack but was later caught by detectives,” the police spokesperson said. “He is now in police custody.

“The case and the suspect have been sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for investigation and prosecution.”

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Bode Ojajuni, condemned the killings, describing the act as senseless and avoidable.

He assured that justice would be pursued to its logical conclusion and urged residents to remain vigilant, calling on the public to promptly report suspicious or violent behaviour to law enforcement authorities.

The Command also advised members of the public to report suspicious activities or security threats through its emergency contact lines, reiterating its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
