Community leaders across Osun State met under the platform of the Community Development Council to review the progress of communities and discuss priorities for the coming months.
The meeting focused on strengthening grassroots development, improving coordination among Community Development Associations, and assessing the impact of ongoing government projects in different towns and wards.
Participants agreed that community driven development remains key to sustainable growth across the state. Leaders from several local government areas shared updates on projects such as road rehabilitation, school improvements, health center upgrades, and sanitation efforts.
Members noted that active participation from residents has helped push several initiatives forward. Community leaders stressed that stronger collaboration with government institutions will help speed up development in underserved areas.
Government engagement also formed a major part of the discussion. Community leaders acknowledged the current administration’s focus on infrastructure, workers’ welfare, and local development programs across Osun State.
Several leaders pointed to projects executed under Governor Ademola Adeleke in areas such as road construction, school renovation, and support for local economies.
They argued that continuity in leadership would help maintain the pace of development already recorded in many communities.
Re-election strategy therefore emerged as one of the central topics of the meeting. Community leaders discussed ways to mobilize grassroots support and strengthen voter awareness across towns and villages.
Key resolutions from the meeting included:
• Strengthening cooperation between Community Development Associations across the state
• Improving communication between community leaders and government officials
• Encouraging youth and women participation in community development activities
• Mobilizing grassroots support ahead of the next governorship election
• Monitoring government projects to ensure proper delivery at the community level.
CDC leaders concluded that strong community structures remain the backbone of development in Osun State.
They urged residents to stay involved in local initiatives and continue supporting policies that improve infrastructure, education, health services, and economic opportunities across communities.
