MEET OLANISIMI BABATUNDE OLAREWAJU, OUR MEMBER OF THE WEEK: CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF DEDICATION TO COMMUNITY SERVICE (2014-2024)
Babatunde Olanisimi, a young and vibrant Agriculturist and Media Practitioner, is the CEO of Peoplesmind—a blog with a very wide audience and following, especially in Ondo State.
He graduated from the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, bagging a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agricultural Technology (Crop Technology).
He earlier bagged a National Diploma (ND) Agricultural Technology from the Federal College Of Agriculture Akure, Ondo State.
He also holds a certificate in Brand Management. His other professional certificates include, Digital Journalism from Reuters in 2022, Project Management from Harde Business School in 2023, and Digital Marketing from Harde Business School in 2023.
He is a thoroughbred leader and community organizer with a background in the Student Union. Having served as the No. 3 Student —General Secretary —of Owo Local Government Area Students’ Union (OLGASU), Majority (as he is popularly known in the student community) progressed to serve as the Chief Whip of Student Representative Council of Federal College of Agriculture, Akure in 2021 and Member of Ado Polytechnic Electoral Committee (APECO) in 2023.
He rose to the level of the National Association Nigerian Students (NANS) where he notably served as the Director of Media in the Joint Campus Committee (JCC) of Ondo State axis.
Majority is an active member of Emure-ile Future Pride Youth Forum and has assumed leadership positions in the forum in the past. He chaired the Electoral Committee of the Forum in 2020, organizing one of the best Elections in the forum. It is remarkable to mention that Babatunde coined the Motto of the forum “Bedrock For Emure-ile”.
Babatunde Olanisimi is an advocate of Agriculture as a means for Economic Development and believes in egalitarian society. His philosophy is that “money and power are nothing if they are not used to building a better world”.
