President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday praised the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, saying he is doing an “excellent job” in coordinating efforts against banditry and terrorism.
Speaking in Yola during the inauguration of Adamawa State government projects, Tinubu expressed pride in Ribadu’s leadership and assured that the country would overcome insecurity under his guidance.
“I must say clearly here that you are doing an excellent job, and we have seen the results. With you, we will defeat the bandits and terrorists. You are a good national security adviser—honest, bold, courageous and committed to the job. I believe the people of Adamawa are proud of you, because I am too,” Tinubu said.
The president’s commendation comes amid allegations by former Kaduna governor Nasir el-Rufai, who accused the ONSA last month of procuring 10 kilogrammes of thallium sulphate, a highly toxic substance. The ONSA denied the claims and urged him to submit evidence to the Department of State Services for investigation.
El-Rufai also alleged that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission directed the DSS to arrest him at Abuja airport.
DSS has since filed charges against him for allegedly intercepting Ribadu’s phone conversation.
Meanwhile, Tinubu urged leaders to collaborate for the welfare of citizens and future generations, praising investments in education, road networks, high court upgrades, and automated government facilities.
He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for executing impactful projects, encouraging other governors to emulate the gesture, and pledging continued support for democratic dividends.
