Gov Fubara Wins Man Of The Year Award In Lagos, Dedicates It To Wike

Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, said he deliberately acted “weak” in the face of political tensions to preserve peace and stability in the state.

He made the remark in Lagos while receiving the 2025 Man of the Year Award from New Telegraph.

Fubara, whose speech focused on the strains of leadership and the personal toll of political conflict, said his approach to governance is guided by the need to maintain unity and prevent further division in Rivers State.

In a significant gesture, the governor dedicated the award to his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who currently serves as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He described the honour as a recognition of collective efforts toward sustaining governance and stability in the state.

Fubara stressed the importance of reconciliation, noting that leadership often requires restraint, sacrifice, and the willingness to endure criticism for the greater good of the people.
