VIDEO: ‘You’re Not A Witch’ – Angela Okorie Apologises To Mercy Johnson

Angela Okorie, the Nollywood actress, has publicly apologised to her colleague Mercy Johnson.

The apology comes weeks after the actress was arrested in Lagos by operatives from the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

She was remanded to the Suleja correctional centre following her arraignment over alleged cyber-related crimes related to their feud.

The conflict erupted last year when Okorie claimed Johnson was battling “an ailment I do not wish on my enemies”.

She accused Johnson of hypocrisy, alleging her public use of “church words” belied her true character and urged her to seek forgiveness from those she had wronged.

Johnson initially responded with a cryptic social media post addressing online vitriol before disengaging from the public dispute.

In a recent video posted on Instagram, Angela, who was recently released from prison, apologised to Mercy and her family, expressing regret over her actions and the impact of their dispute.

She attributed the fallout to industry gossip and misunderstandings, noting that people often relayed conflicting stories to both parties.

Okorie emphasised a personal shift in priorities, stating she has reached a point in her life where she no longer desires conflict.

“This video is specifically for Mercy, her kids and family. You know when we were getting older, a lot of things would leave you. When we growing in the industry, a lot of people would come and tell me that Mercy said and some people would tell Mercy that Angela said,” she said.

“There have been issues, quarrels, chaos, loggerheads and at this age, I do not think that this is what I want. The only thing I want right now is money, business. If you have business, please call me. I am no longer listening to those cheap gossips.

“I just want to apologise to you. If it is just my words, if it is the words that I have written anytime your name pops up on social media, I am deeply sorry. You are not a witch, you are not what people are calling you.”

She concluded her apology with a poignant reflection on the future of their children, expressing concern over the bullying her sister’s children faced due to the online vitriol.

“This is just to say I am sorry, we do not know where our kids would meet each other tomorrow,” she said.

“They might be best of friends. These kids have been traveling far and wide, they can meet anywhere in the world. I do not like the fact that they call my sis kids witches in school and they bully them. If they do it to my child, I would not take it. So this is to say I am sorry, deeply sorry for everything.”
